Lake County All Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan Update in Progress
Public Input Needed
Lake County and the Village of Lincolnshire are in the process
of updating the Lake County All Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan.
The Mitigation Plan, first developed in 2005, identifies activities
and projects to reduce the damages caused by natural hazards such
as tornadoes, floods, and severe summer and winter storms. The
update of the Mitigation Plan is funded through a grant from the
Federal Emergency Management Agency. Mitigation means anything
that can be done to reduce the impact of a natural hazard.
Public input and comments are important to the Mitigation Plan
update. All Lake County residents and property owners are encouraged
to complete a short survey that can be found on the Internet
at: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/D53CQ3K.
Survey responses provided will help Lake County prioritize natural
hazards that could impact residents and property owner, and to
determine how to be better prepared for natural hazard emergencies. |
